Neutralize the Infected Plant
Unfortunately, it’s time to quarantine. The infected plant and the plants surrounding it should be very carefully taken out of your grow space. Disturbing the plant in any way could cause PM spores to come off and float to adjacent plants, but there’s one trick to limiting this risk.
Carefully wrapping infected leaves or plants in plastic bags for transport should limit the ability of the sporing mildew to spread as the plant is picked up and moved to a safer area. Once the plants are separated it’s up to you whether to trim the infected leaves and send it for processing or to destroy it altogether. But, for many commercial growers, it may not be worth it to douse a PM-infected plant with chemicals at this stage and hope that it becomes usable as-is. After you’ve removed the plants from this separate area – clean thoroughly to be sure no spores remain behind.
One thing to note – powdery mildew spreads fast. If you smell decay throughout your flowering room, or if you see multiple plants with significant powdery mildew infections, it may well be that this crop is at risk of becoming unusable.
